Name: Katie Duy
Olentangy Orange Coaching Staff
Katie Duy will be the head volleyball coach of the Olentangy Orange varsity volleyball team. She graduated from Kent State University with a degree in education. Katie has 10 years of coaching experience at the high school and club level. As an assistant coach at Padua Franciscan High School, she was part of back to back Division II state championships, with teams that produced multiple Division I college athletes. The following year at Gilmour Academy her team was the Division III state runner up. After moving down to Columbus, Katie joined the Bishop Hartley program as an assistant that won a Division II state championship. In addition to high school volleyball, she has also coached travel volleyball over the last nine years. During this time her team won the first National Championship of Central Ohio in 2012, and most recently was in the National Championship at the 16 open level. In her first year as head coach of Olentangy Orange the program had a record of 55-10 overall. Varsity was 21-4, won the OCC conference for the first time in school history and Coach Duy was named OCC coach of the year.
Karlie Dahn is in her 2nd year assisting the Olentangy Orange program. Karlie is an Olentangy Orange Alumni and a recent graduate of Ohio University where she obtained her degree in Psychology. Karlie has 5 years of club coaching experience at Mintonette Sports, Aleta Aces, and most recently Columbus Volleyball Academy. During her time at Ohio University she also coached for Alexander High School and played club volleyball. This fall Karlie will be attending the Ohio State University for her Master’s Degree in School Psychology. As an alumni Karlie is looking forward to helping build a successful program at Orange.
Meghan Hubbell is also in her 2nd year assisting the Olentangy Orange volleyball program as the JV volleyball coach, and is very excited to be part of this great volleyball organization. In her 1st year the JV team went 21-1 winning the OCC conference. Meghan grew up in Hilliard, Ohio, and played volleyball and basketball at Hilliard Darby High School. She was a part of the program which won 2 OCC championships, 1 district championship, and 1 regional runner-up. Meghan attended Miami University in Oxford, OH receiving her bachelor’s degree in athletic training and exercise science with a coaching minor, graduating in 2005. After Miami she attended Eastern Kentucky University to attain her masters in health and sports studies and continued her education at Kent State University while completing her physical therapist assistant’s degree. Currently, Meghan works at OSU Sports Medicine Physical Therapy as a physical therapy assistant and athletic trainer from the past 6 years. Meghan is very excited to start this new journey with Olentangy Orange volleyball team, and looks forward to what the future can bring.
Alexa Brown will be coaching our freshman team this year. She was born and raised in Westerville, Ohio and graduated from St. Francis DeSales in 2012. While playing high school volleyball she also played club for Mintonette Sports for four years. After graduating from St Francis DeSales, she then went on to play Division II volleyball at Wheeling Jesuit University. There she made it to The Elite Eight twice, Final Four once and in 2015 she was part of the Division II National Championship team. This past May she graduate from Wheeling Jesuit University with a degree in Early Childhood
